Our History
2026 marked the 30th anniversary of C&J Well Co., a premier water well drilling and well-pump service company in Central Indiana. Josh Abdnour was working for a local well drilling company, Water Wells by Wilhite, when the opportunity arose to buy the company and its 1966 drill rig. After much thought and prayer, Josh and his wife, Christy, took the Wilhites up on their offer, and C&J Well Company was formed. The Abdnours are extremely thankful to the Wilhites for extending this opportunity to them and for the chance to celebrate this monumental milestone.
Over our 30-year journey, C&J Well Co has continued to grow. C&J has expanded from simply drilling water wells to handling all aspects of water well service, including preventive maintenance, excavation, well pump service, and connections to city water via horizontal boring technology. From our humble beginnings, we now have four locations, over 80 employees, state-of-the-art Versadrill rotary-drill rigs, and one bucket-well drill rig. Josh and Christy are very thankful for the many loyal employees who have made C&J what it is today.
In thirty years, there have been many notable accomplishments, such as opening C and J Water for softeners and treatment, and integrating other local well-drilling companies, most recently Wallace Well Drilling. C&J also proudly continues the legacies of Water Wells by Wilhite, Dean Well Drilling, Harness Well Company, and Scobee Well Drilling. Josh and Christy are grateful for their hard-working technicians and strong support staff that led the company through the years.
C&J is also a company with a cause—providing for the physical and spiritual needs of those less fortunate. We are partnering with Faith Children’s Village to support orphans in Zambia and with Filter of Hope to provide clean water in impoverished countries. These ministries share the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ while also providing loving homes, literacy, and access to clean water for orphans and those living in abject poverty around the world.
C&J is a member of the BBB, the Indiana Ground Water Association, and the Builders Association of Greater Indianapolis.
